How can I automate end-to-end device onboarding?

Currently, we use Smart Industries integration which involves manually onboarding each of our smart devices as far as we are aware. We'd like to get to a point where device registration is more automated(create a bank of serial numbers, register device under serial number quickly). Can someone point me to API(s) or a set of documentation that can help inform how this could be done? Is there anyone else who is working on something similar with IoT?

Could you describe your scenario in detail? Currently, there is no API for batch device registration.
